question about dental cover….?

I live in the uk and I’d like to go to a private dentist so I’m looking into dental insurance. The problem is I’m absolutely terrified of dentists and I would like to be put to sleep if I have any work done (fillings, tooth extraction, etc). Is it possible to get this covered?

  1. fillings no, extractions yes. When you do start looking for a dentist let them know of your fear. Mine gives me a mild tranquilizer to take before any major work. Dental insurance never covers the work in entirety. You always have out of pocket expense

  2. Although my wife and I have dental cover through Denplan I’m never to sure if it is good value. On the other hand I think trouble has been prevented or arrested before it has become a problem

Anesthesia is rarely covered under most insurance plans. Try hypnosis
